If you’re not feeling very “fall-ish” yet this season, we’re going to create a cozy autumn kit full of goodies to get you into the seasonal spirit!
Let’s talk for a minute about celebrating the simple pleasures in life. The little everyday joys that happen all around us, but are all too easy to miss.
Fall is hands-down my favorite season. I’ve put together this list of all the fun things I like to do during this beautiful season and I want to share it with you.
It can be easy to get wrapped up in our day-to-day lives and forget to care for ourselves. We’re so busy taking care of our families, our jobs, and all of the other responsibilities we have that we often don’t make time for ourselves. But it’s essential that we do. When we don’t take time to focus on ourselves, it can lead to feelings of guilt, overwhelm, and even depression. By prioritizing self-care, we can ensure that we are taking care of our external responsibilities as well as our internal needs.
create an inviting space that will make you feel warm and cozy, no matter the season. Here are six quick and easy ways to add some extra coziness to your abode.
Believe it or not, your weekdays can be simpler. Whether you’re a stay at home or work at home parent, working a 9-5 job (maybe even a couple of jobs), or self-employed, simplifying those weekdays is not an impossible goal. How? All it takes is a plan!
With a little planning ahead, you can be prepared for (almost) anything that comes your way!
If you’re not getting good quality sleep on a regular basis, you’ve probably noticed the effects in your life. That fuzzy feeling in your head? Crankiness? Trouble learning new things or lack of concentration? Yep, you’re probably not getting enough good sleep. I’m all too familiar with that feeling of functioning through the fog…and I don’t like it!
I think we can all agree that no matter how much you try to minimize stress in your life, it will still occasionally happen – stress and anxiety will creep in. And it’s hard on us, both mentally and physically. It will interrupt your sleep, affect your appetite, hijack your focus. A good friend of mine is actually battling a long-term illness caused by a stressful life!
While there are ways to minimize stress in your daily life, we can’t avoid it completely. So what can you do when you feel those stress levels rising?
So what’s the opposite of multi-tasking? Single-tasking. Literally doing one thing at a time. Start a task. Focus on it. Finish it (or reach a stopping place). THEN do another task. Give what you’re doing your undivided attention and dedicated time. Sounds simple, right? It is. But it’s not always easy, especially if multi-tasking is a long-standing habit.
What do you want your life to look like? If you take a few minutes to think about this one, you’ll find that it’s surprisingly easy to picture what you WANT. Now, carry it a little farther. When you look at this picture of your ideal life, what ISN’T there? Get specific about this, because that’s a very good place to start. If you see things that don’t fit into your ideal, why are they there? Some things are easy to just let go of…others, you may not be ABLE to let go of, but maybe there is a work-around.
We need space in our lives, openness, both physical space and, more importantly, mental space. Time that allows our minds to relax and untangle. Have you ever struggled to solve a problem or remember a name? You think about it all day and just can’t figure it out! And then, at three in the morning, you suddenly wake up with the answer! Why does that happen? Because your mind is relaxed. It continues to work on the problem for you, without all the normal interruptions that happen while you’re awake. It finally has the space to wander until it finds the answer. Pretty crazy, huh?
